Mayor Jerry Demings of Orange County, Florida was asked at a recent press conference why WWE has been allowed to continue amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Mayor Demings made it apparent that WWE was initially denied consideration as an essential business. Demings did not detail why this ruling was overturned by the Governor, making WWE an essential business in Florida.

Mayor Demings also spoke briefly on the case of COVID-19 reported among the WWE crew. Though details on the infected member are restricted due to HIPAA laws, WWE has claimed that he/she has made a full recovery. Demings believes WWE will take the same precautions as would a family with a member who’d contracted the virus.
