Clarabeau Tomlinson Brightman Carter, 85, of Lake Park, died on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Presbyterian Home following a period of declining health. She was born on January 21, 1937, in Adel, Georgia to the late William Bryant Tomlinson and Alice Bethea Cannon Tomlinson. She was the owner/operator of Carter Country Home (PCH) and was a member of Lake Park Church of Christ. Mrs. Clara loved life, loved the Lord and served him, and she loved people. She wanted every person to feel important and special.

She is survived by her husband, William Harley Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Barry York of Montgomery, Alabama; her three sons, Bruce Brightman of Lawrenceville, Barclay Carter of Valdosta, and Neal Carter of Lake Park; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Phillip Verner, Melissa Brightman and Anthony Bates, Brittany Brightman, Lydia and Damen Menditto, Spencer and Aleena Carter, Nicholas Carter, and Hunter Freeman; her great-grandchildren, Ian McDonald, Luke Verner, Lilly Verner, Connor Barrett, and Julian Carter. Mrs. Clara was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Brightman; her son, Glen Douglas Brightman, and her brother, Billy Joe Tomlinson.

A memorial service for Clarabeau Tomlinson Brightman Carter will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Lake Park Church of Christ with Minister Jerry Carter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mrs. Clara’s memory to Hospice of South Georgia. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
