Billy H. Rowland, 81, formerly of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2022, in Milledgeville, GA.

He was born on September 17, 1940, to James Henry and MaryLee (Hill) Rowland.
Billy graduated from Clyattville High School and shortly after graduation enlisted in the United States Air Force. Billy qproudly served his country in active duty and in the USAF Reserves. After completing his military service, Billy returned to Valdosta, GA, and began a lifelong career in the automobile industry. Billy was a gifted salesman, broker, and wholesale automotive dealer; he was devoted to his craft. He loved sports and most especially the Georgia Bulldogs. Billy had the tenacity of a bulldog and never backed down from a challenge. Billy was short in stature, walked fast, talked fast, and had the confidence of a giant. Billy was driven and loved the thrill of the sale. He loved all things automotive; however, the two things he loved and was most proud of were his two children. They were the drive and motivation for all of his hard work.

After suffering a stroke six years ago, Billy resided at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA. He developed a bond with many of the residents telling stories and building friendships. However, he was most appreciative to the care given by his nurses and the staff. The family would most like to thank Nurse Shaw, Ms. Sandra, and the entire staff of the Georgia War Veterans Home as well as the entire staff of Pruitt Hospice for their loving

care and dedication to Billy.

Billy is survived by his children: Stephanie (David) Thomas of Valdosta, GA, and Billy Stephen (Agnes) Rowland of Hahira, GA.; four grandchildren Courtney Thomas of Valdosta, GA, Cayla VanNortwick (Ryan) of Enterprise, AL, Jasper Rowland, and Blake Rowland of Hahira, GA, sister, Lawnada (Max) Croft of McDonough, GA, along with several nieces and nephews.
