Phillip Edward “Eddie” Allen, 73, of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Kissimmee, Osceola County, Florida on November 7, 1947. Eddie was a forklift mechanic. He served in the United States Navy from 1967-1971. Eddie enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and was a long time member of Southern Bass Busters.

He is survived by his son, Tim Allen (JoAnn) of Valdosta, daughter, Kyla Nelms (Clint) of Doerun, grandchildren, Clayton Rogers (Alyson), Taylor Nelms and Tatum Allen, great granddaughter, Piper Rogers, brothers, Jerry Courson and David Courson (Diana), sisters, Georgia Gail Heruska (David) and Candy Hendrix (Craig). Family that has predeceased are parents, George Ward Courson and Ethel Lavonia Andrews Courson, wife, Wilma Jean Carter Allen, granddaughters, Abby Allen and Faith Allen, brother, Ralph Allen and sister, Karen Campbell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Naylor, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday from five until seven p. m. at the funeral home.
