Bobby Dean Allbritton, 78, of Valdosta passed away at his home on Monday, March 1, 2021. He was born in Lowndes County on March 14, 1942 to the late Lee Alexander and Sallie Hartline Allbritton and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. Bobby was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a locomotive engineer after 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Willie Allbritton and Donnie Allbritton, sisters and brothers in law, Elvalena and Jimmy Chaney, Elouise and Charles Harman, nephews, Scott Harman and David Chaney.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Geraldine Garrison Allbritton of Valdosta; two sons, Bobby Dean Allbritton, Jr. (Joshua Steele) of Waterville, Maine, Jeremy Lee Allbritton (Christy) of Hahira, GA; daughter, Jennie Allbritton Watson (Adam) of Tallahassee, FL. He was the proud “Popi” to his grandchildren, Trey Steinberg, Emma Allbritton, Garrison Allbritton, Jacob Steinberg; his sisters in law, Ailene Allbritton of Eagle Lake, FL, JoAnn Allbritton of Valdosta, Patricia Hughes (Charles), Jennie Garrison (Sandy Wright), brother-in-law, Tobey Garrison (Marichu) and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The Allbritton family would like to thank Hospice of South Georgia, especially nurse Ken Croft, CNA Julie Spires and LCSW Callet Prine for their excellent caring service.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30pm until service time at the funeral home.
