Child injured during Valdosta Christmas parade in critical but stable condition

VALDOSTA – A child seriously injured Saturday during the City of Valdosta’s Annual Christmas Parade is currently in critical condition but is listed as stable, according to a statement from the Valdosta Police Department.

During the City of Valdosta’s Annual Christmas parade, a child was seriously injured.

On the “A-1 Towing” float, a three year old boy somehow fell off of the float while in motion and the child was struck by the tires of the trailer.

Valdosta Police Department officers, Valdosta Fire Fighters, and Emergency Medical Personnel were on scene almost immediately.

The child was transported by EMS to SGMC and then “Life Flighted” to another hospital.

The child is listed in critical condition.

No foul play is suspected and the accident is still under investigation.
