VALDOSTA – Officials are investigating a death at Valdosta State Prison.

Robert Hughes was being held at the prison when he died Friday.

“The incident is currently under investigation, therefore we cannot discuss details surrounding the incident,” said Gwendolyn Hogan of the Georgia Department of Corrections in a statement to WALB.
