COFFEE CO. — One woman dead and two hospitalized after a tragic car wreck in Coffee County. On Thursday, Feb. 12, Georgia State Patrol responded to a wreck around 6:45 p.m. on Willachoochee Highway.

A woman driving an SUV in the south bound lane swerved  into the north bound lane to avoid hitting a pick-up truck, unfortunately hitting a Chevy Sedan head on in return.

The woman driving the SUV’s name has yet to be released but was tragically killed in the crash.

Two women were in the sedan at the time of the accident, one is in a hospital in Macon and the other one was taken to Coffee Regional Medical Center and then air lifted to Savannah.

The investigation is ongoing at this point.
