Selma, AL — Over fifty people with Valdosta ties were present at the historic 55th Anniversary of the Edmund Pettus Bridge Crossing as part of the annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee conducted by the City of Selma.
The Valdosta Chapter of the National Council of Negro Women chartered a bus which transported thirty-five participants to the Montgomery/Selma area; for the twenty-eight young people and seven adults, they visited the Memorial Museum and other Montgomery area attractions in addition to the Selma Saturday and Sunday events.
