VALDOSTA, Ga.- On Tuesday, someone who dropped in on Crystal River seafood restaurant located at 958 St. Augustine Road were surprised – including employees, to find a sign on the door announcing its closing.
The long-beloved seafood restaurant that has been in business for 15 years said on its website:
Our family-oriented restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy fine seafood. We serve fresh seafood in a fun atmosphere. You can choose from the large selection of items on our menu from shrimp and fish to gator tail and frog legs. We also serve salads, sandwiches, Hand-Cut, Certified Angus Ribeyes, and much more.”Crystal River website
With over 400 mostly-positive Google reviews and lots of happy customer photos of platters of extremely fried fare, the website is now emblazoned in red: PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
The sign on the door read:
“We are thankful to all our staff, guests, and the entire Valdosta community for the support and loyalty over the last 15 years…Please visit our website at www.lovethatseafood.com for the location nearest you.
Apparently the owners closed without notifying customers or employees in advance.
