ATHENS — A Resident Assistant in the Russell Hall dorm at the University of Georgia was found dead on Thursday.

Police are investigating the incident involving Mikal Ghirmasghi, 21, who was found dead in her room.  Police responded to reports for medical assistance and when officers and emergency medical staff arrived and began first aid, many believe Ghirmasghi was already dead.

Though there was no obvious cause of death initially reported by police, they did say there were no signs of foul play.

Students gathered at Russell Hall and held a candlelight vigil in her memory.
