FITZGERALD, Ga. – Former Fitzgerald High School band director, Jonathan Kelly, pleaded guilty to 9 counts of sexual assault after being indicted in May, according to District Attorney Brad Rigby.

Kelly was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by 15 years on probation. (WALB)

Prosecutors said Kelly “engaged in various repeated sexual acts with two different students, with those acts occurring both on and off-campus.”

Kelly was originally arrested May 23 on an aggravated sodomy charge against a victim; within the next week another victim came forward.

Kelly was charged with aggravated sodomy and sexual assault charges for both victims. The incidents occurred between 2013 and 2017.
