Hurricane Sally has made landfall on the coast of Alabama and is currently moving at a very slow 3 mph. The slow movement combined with the torrential downpours are causing heavy flooding for the region.
The US National Weather Service is predicting that Hurricane Sally will travel in a northeast direction and will go above Valdosta and the surrounding area. However, the storm will likely cause the region to have showers over the next few days and there is potential for moderate flooding.
