Lowndes County: I-75 welcome center closing for 24 hours

The Interstate 75 North Georgia welcome/visitor information center in Lowndes County is scheduled to close for 24 hours beginning at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. The closure is for the relocation/installation of the backup generator. The entrance to the center will be blocked off and the parking lots and center restrooms will not be accessible. The closest I-75 North rest area is located in Cook County at milepost 46.7. Bathrooms at Georgia’s rest areas remain open and are regularly deep cleaned throughout the day.
