Release:

Following the shooting of an individual at the St. Augustine Road public boat ramp on April 10, Sheriff’s Office investigators have followed leads which has resulted in the arrest of four persons.

During the investigation, detectives learned the parties met for the purpose of selling / buying marijuana.  During the transaction, a dispute began and the victim was shot in the face. The victim was transported by helicopter for treatment and is now recovering from his injuries. 

Three of the arrested persons have been charged with aggravated assault and a 14 year old juvenile was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to distribute marijuana.  The three adults are in the Lowndes County Jail and the juvenile has been detained in a regional youth detention center.   Additional charges will most likely be filed as this investigation continues.
