VCS to Update School Closure Info Thursday

VALDOSTA, Ga.— Like Lowndes County Schools, Valdosta City Schools will release an official statement that updates on how they are instructed to proceed with cancellations related to the Coronavirus’ spread. These instructions will be announced Thursday, March 26 based on the latest mandate from the Governor Kemp’s office.

We know that everyone is concerned and wondering when our schools will reopen.Today, Tuesday, March 24, we have been told to wait until Thursday, March  26, before issuing any information on the closure extensions for our schools.  As soon as we have our direction from the Governor’s Office we will issue further details.  

Meals will continue being offered to children 18 and under through Second Harvest/VCS Five Meal Sites (Monday-Friday) and VCS Meals on Wheels Bus Stops (March 26 and March 30). To find meal sites and stay updated: http://bit.ly/VCSMeals.
