VALDOSTA, Ga.— The Junior Police Program at W.G. Nunn is an initiative to give students early experience in law enforcement pathways. The skills these 4th and 5th grade students learn are valuable to most career fields, even outside of law enforcement.

W.G. Nunn Elementary and School Resource Officer, Sandra Porter, have initiated a Junior Police Program for 4th and 5th grade students.The program gives students the opportunity to experience hands-on methods and techniques in the profession of law enforcement, while focusing on respect, self-discipline, integrity, equality, education, and physical fitness. Students also gain an understanding of community responsibility, problem solving, and leadership skills.
