VALDOSTA— Everyone wants privacy. For this reason some are hesitant to participate in the national census. However, legally speaking, “The census is required by the U.S. Constitution (Article 1, Section 2)” reports Valdosta City. For this reason and the following, the City of Valdosta is encouraging their residents to participate in the US Census of 2020.

The focus of the census is informing lawmaking and business decisions with factual figures. Census data is also used to make policy decisions related to funding healthcare, education, transportation and more on all government levels; to guide businesses data in making decisions; and for reapportionment.

By filling out the census, you are giving your community a chance to be best supported, represented, and understood. This 10-minute survey is much more than just being counted… The 2010 census yielded a count of 9,687,653 people in Georgia and provided the state with $15.88 billion. Each Georgian that participated in the 2010 census effectively brought $1,639.10 to the state.
