LAKE PARK – Bring a blanket and a picnic for a free movie in the park! The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority will show “The Avengers” at South Lowndes Recreation Complex in Lake Park on Friday, July 15th.

The PG-13 rated blockbuster will start around 8:30 p.m. or whenever it is dark enough to begin.

This is a continuation of VLPRA’s spring and summer movie series. The Authority will show the movie on its new inflatable screen, which is 20 feet wide and 11 feet tall. There is no fee to watch the film. VLPRA simply asks that spectators bring a blanket or lawn chairs and bug spray. No registration is necessary. VLPRA will sell limited concessions on a cash only basis. Movie-watchers are welcome to bring their own picnics.

The Authority would like to remind parents that “The Avengers” is rated PG-13. For more information on movie ratings, please visit the Motion Picture Association of America’s website at www.mpaa.org.

VLPRA’s next movie in the park will be “Hotel Transylvania 2” in October at North Lowndes Park in Hahira.
