VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University’s College of the Arts will celebrate the work of 15 graduating Department of Art students when it presents Things Made By People in the Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery Nov. 15 through Dec. 7. Admission to the gallery is free of charge and open to the public.
An opening reception for Things Made By People, the 2015 Fall Senior Exhibition, will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15. Refreshments will be served, and a student jazz combo will perform. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their works.
Things Made By People features drawings, paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, and graphic design created by Carolyn Brady, Joel Dion, Kaylyn Eanes, Courtney Gatch, Breyana Jackson, Sasha Kremin, Renee Parham, Logann Pearce, Nigel Pittman, Sally Querin, Lucas Rocheleau, Holly Roddenberry, Alan Sifuentes, Emily Smith, and Zakk White. All of the students are art majors who anticipate graduating with either a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Arts in December.
The Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery is located on the first floor of the VSU Fine Arts Building, at the intersection of Oak Street and Brookwood Drive. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays. Please note that the gallery will be closed Nov. 25-27 for the holiday break.
