A few weeks ago I was driving home from running some errands and I spotted a treasure on the side of the road. My neighbors had taken down and discarded an old play set. 

To everyone else this probably looked like a pile of trash but I immediately thought of my friend Leslie! She had asked me just a couple of days before if I could make a wooden sign for her home. She had a special quote in mind but just needed it to be the right colors and size for her house. This thrown out play set was perfect for this project! Not only was the wood perfectly aged and just the right size and shape but the fact that it came from a children’s play set just seemed fitting.

You see, my sweet friend Leslie selfishly gives much of her time to an organization called Cookies for Kids Cancer. She works tirelessly every year to organize a bake sale, 5k fun run and silent auction to help raise money for pediatric cancer research. So, you can see why I thought the wood from and old play set along with the special words she had chosen for the sign seemed absolutely perfect!

I love how it turned out! Sometimes a pile of junk and a little imagination is all you need to make something beautiful for you home! Be the good y’all!
