If you haven’t heard, the new Star Wars Episode VII will be out in theaters for Christmas and its created quite a buzz.

The upcoming film is the first major piece of return Disney will see from its purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd., the movie-making arm of producer George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise.  Back in 2012, Disney acquired the rights to the Star Wars franchise with the $4 billion purchase of Lucasfilm.

If the move in the stock price that coincided with the new trailer release is any indication, Disney will score big from its investment.

About the same time the new teaser trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” dropped, Walt Disney Co.’s shares popped up over 1%.

Looks like that move led by CEO Bob Iger may turn out to be a pretty sharp, judging by Disney’s stock action Thursday, which saw $2 billion in value added to Disney’s shares just after the new trailer made its debut.

Disney shares were up 1.2% at one point.
