THOMASVILLE — Thomas University’s Women’s Golf team finish their fall season, taking 1st place in Warner’s Beyond the Roar Invitational at The Country Club of Winter Haven in Winter Haven, Fla.

The Lady Night Hawks locked in 1st, carding a team combined score of 677 (343, 334), 40 strokes ahead of the 2nd place Warner University who shot 717 (365, 352).

Sophomore Heidi Hinz locked in 2nd place overall as she finished the tournament shooting a 162 (82, 80), while teammate, Sophomore Jodi Henley took 3rd overall, carding a second round just 8 over par with an 80, totaling 165 for the tournament (85, 80).  Sophomore Caroline Parrish (T4) wrapped up the tournament with a 172 (87, 85), as Junior Jordan Patton came back to the clubhouse 9th, shooting a pair of 89’s, totaling a 178.

Hinz, Henly and Parrish all finished in the top 5, securing positions on the All-Tournament team.

“The Girls came out with the focus and determination they had during the first round and were able to shave strokes off their overall score,” said Head TU Golf Coach, Peter Ireland.  “We are a young team and they are improving extremely fast, I look forward to seeing what they do in the months to come.”

Thomas will continue to work hard during the off season and will return to the links in the spring for their 2015 spring season.
