VALDOSTA – Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s nursing program has been ranked 6th in the state of Georgia for 2024.

Release:

The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College has been ranked 6th in the state of Georgia for 2024, according to NursingProcess.org. The ranking was based on the students’ National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) pass rates.  According to Nursing Process.org “Mainly, we have captured four broad areas, such as academic quality, NCLEX-RN exam performance, affordability, and the overall reputation of a school.” The rankings and methodology can be found at this link https://www.nursingprocess.org/nursing-schools/georgia/.

Nursing Process.org also shared that the Wiregrass ASN program trains students to become a holistic nurse, equipping them with critical thinking, psychomotor skills, and a firm knowledge base.  Wiregrass’ ASN program has a stellar reputation being named in the top 10 in Georgia for multiple years now.

The college has recently expanded this ASN program with the start of a cohort on the Coffee Campus that began in Fall 2023 and a new cohort starting on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus in Fall Semester 2024. The college has two options for students wishing to earn an ASN degree on the Valdosta Campus.  The traditional Associate of Science in Nursing program accepts 50 students each Spring Semester.  The program can be completed in four semesters.  The Transitions in Nursing Program, or the Bridge Program, is designed to prepare Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Paramedics to complete the NCLEX-RN Exam and work as competent Registered Nurses. The Bridge Program accepts 30 students each Fall Semester and takes 3 semesters to complete.

Wiregrass President DeAnnia Clements shared, “We are very proud of our ASN program and the recognition this program continues to receive.  The college and students are blessed to have such dedicated instructors who invest in our students to make sure they are well-prepared for certification tests and their careers to be caregivers.”

The ASN Program is one of the competitive admissions programs at the college.  Visit www.wiregrass.edu to learn more about the programs Wiregrass offers.
