The Winnersville Classic was a classic indeed as Valdosta’s Brennan Goodson booted a 32-yard field goal to lead the Wildcats to a 13-10 win over Lowndes at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium Friday night. The win gives Valdosta a chance at second place in the region and a home playoff game as they battle Lee County next Friday night while Lowndes will play Tift County with the winner gaining the fourth and final playoff position.

In other scores from around the area, Valwood clinched a GISA Region 3-AAA Championship with a dominant win over Deerfield-Windsor, Georgia Christian won its region championship in its first year of varsity competition by holding out Southwest Georgia Academy, Brooks County upset Thomasville in Quitman, Lanier County fell 10 points short of Telfair County, Berrien dropped a road game to Fitzgerald, Colquitt County dominated Tift County, Lee County was impressive again in a win over Camden County, and Clinch County lost a heartbreaker late in the fourth quarter against rival Charlton County.
