LOWNDES — Lowndes Vikings tennis and baseball teams advance in playoffs while track and golf teams earn region titles.

Spring sports playoff success continues for our Vikings!

Our region champion tennis teams swept Collins Hill last week in the first round of the playoffs. This week, the girls will host Norcross and the boys will host Brookwood in the second round on Tuesday, April 28. The girls begin match play at 11:00 AM, with the boys to follow at 12:00 PM. All matches will be held at the Lowndes High School tennis complex. Admission is free, and fans are encouraged to park in the faculty parking lot.

Our baseball team swept Mountain View in the first round last Friday and will host Parkview on Friday, May 1 at Noel George Field. Admission is $15 for the doubleheader, and all fans—except infants in arms—must have a ticket. First pitch is set for 5:00 PM. If a third game is necessary, it will be played on Saturday, May 2 beginning at 1:00 PM .

In addition, both our girls track and girls golf teams captured region titles last week. Congratulations to Coach Amanda Hughes, Coach Joseph Robinson, and their teams on their outstanding achievements!

Both the girls and boys track teams will compete in sectionals on Saturday, May 2 at McEachern High School.
