VALDOSTA – Wisconsin-based pop rock group Gin, Chocolate, and Bottle Rockets to perform at the 2024 Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series hosted by the Turner Center.

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host Wisconsin-based pop rock group Gin, Chocolate, and Bottle Rockets (GCBR) from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Turner Center Art Park, 605 North Patterson Street, on Friday, April 12, 2024.

The concert is the fifth of 10 free, live performances in the 2024 Levitt AMP Music Series, sponsored by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation and the Price-Campbell Foundation.

The all-female trio features the collective talents of Jennifer Farley, Shawndell Marks, and Beth Kille, all natives of Madison, Wisconsin. While each has been recognized by the Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) for her individual accomplishments, the group has collectively won the MAMA Award for Ensemble Vocals in 2015, 2017, 2020, 2021, and 2023.

The group prides itself on its use of powerful vocal harmonies, which online blog Mother Church Pew describes as “reminiscent of bands like Wilson Phillips and Wailin’ Jennys.” Among their biggest musical projects to date is a two-set multimedia show titled “Legends in Harmony: A Tribute to the Trio,” which celebrates the artistry of musical legends Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris. This focus on harmony further extends to the band’s work as public speakers. Their motivational seminar, titled “Living in Harmony,” has been employed by organizations like the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.

When not performing on stage, the ladies of GCBR can be found supporting the Madison community through organizations such as Madison Girls Rock Camp and as outspoken advocates for women’s cancer support groups.
