VALDOSTA – The Valdosta Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 28-year-old female after receiving reports of a shooting.

On January 24, 2024, at approximately 5:45 am., Valdosta Police Officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of North Troup Street after E911 received several calls about a shooting. When officers arrived at the residence, they found a 28-year-old female with gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services and the Valdosta Fire Department responded to provide life-saving measures. The victim was transported to South Georgia Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel with the Valdosta Police Department responded and are conducting the investigation.
