VALDOSTA – A 15-year-old was arrested by the Valdosta Police Department for the burglary of Enterprise Rental on North Ashley Street.

Release:

Arrested: Juvenile, 15 years of age, Valdosta resident

On May 27, 2023, at approximately 11:30 pm., Valdosta Police Officers responded to Enterprise Rental in the 800 block of North Ashley Street for an activated burglary alarm. When officers arrived at the business, they found a window that had been forced open. Other patrol officers began to canvas the area when they found a 15-year-old male juvenile behind an adjacent business. The juvenile immediately gave officers a false name and date of birth.

Through investigation officers determined that the juvenile had been involved in the burglary. Officers contacted the juvenile’s relative, who responded to the incident location. The officers worked with the Department of Justice and the juvenile was charged with burglary (felony) and giving false name to law enforcement (misdemeanor).

This case is still under investigation and further charges are pending.

“This was great work by our responding officers. Once it was determined that a burglary had occurred, officers began to canvas the area. This resulted in finding the offender, who was still in the area.” Said Chief Leslie Manahan.
