VALDOSTA – The annual Georgia Cities Week in Valdosta encourages everyone to join the celebration with a week of events.

We observe Georgia Cities Week each year, and we encourage you to join the celebration! There’s something for everyone!

Our celebration kicks off Thursday, April 20, with the City of Valdosta Municipal Court hosting mock trials with Valdosta Early College Academy students at the municipal court at 10:30 am.

Friday, April 21, the Utilities department reads to students at WG Nunn Elementary School in preparation for GMAS testing.

Monday, April 24, Mayor Scott Matheson presents a proclamation at the Customer Service Center, and the City of Valdosta shows appreciation to our first responders through social media outlets.

The Public Works Department is hosting a school-wide essay contest for all Valdosta City School district middle schools. On Tuesday, April 25, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners will be announced on Facebook Live. The essay deadline is April 18.

Wednesday, April 26, join the Police and Fire Chief at GUD Coffee Company in Downtown Valdosta! From 7:30 am – 9:00 am, enjoy coffee and conversation, and have your picture taken with our awesome Chiefs!

Thursday, April 27, join the Neighborhood Development Department as they host “Paint in the Park.” This free event requires registration at https://tinyurl.com/PaintinthePark

TGIF: Close out Georgia Cities week with Downtown Valdosta Main Street‘s annual Pup Crawl! The event begins at 5:00 pm at Georgia Beer Co.
