Former Valdosta High School football standout, Malcom Mitchell, has won much recognition both on and off the football field. But he considers his Share the Magic Foundation among his greatest accomplishments. Chick-fil-A agrees, as they name him a True Inspiration Award recipient for 2021.
Earlier this month, Mitchell learned of the award in a surprise ceremony at Bazemore Hyder Stadium. Family, friends, and fans watched as officials from Chick-fil-A named Share the Magic as one of 34 True Inspiration Award national winners. With the award, they presented a check to the foundation. Share the Magic was nominated by local franchise owner, Charlie Crews, and the St. Augustine Road Chick-fil-A. Nominees were then voted on through the Chick-fil-A app.

The True Inspiration Awards were founded to honor the generous spirit and legacy of Chick-fil-A’s founder, S. Truett Cathy, in 2015. Each year, Chick-fil-A honors and supports community organizations from across the U.S. and Canada that are making a positive impact in the area of humder, homelessness, and education. In 2020, Chick-fil-A announced the annual True Inpsiration Awards would support Black-led non-profits, or those impacting primarily impacting communities of color. Share the Magic Foundation sithe Southeast winner and one of 34 organizations nationally awarded the True Inspirations Award this year.
