Covid-19 restrictions have put a halt to holiday celebrations, especially for those in care facilities. In light of the restrictions, South Georgia Medical Center employees showed the true spirit of the season by “adopting” residents of Lakeland Villa for the holidays.
From From the South Georgia Meidcal Center Facebook page:
“With COVID-19 bringing strict visitation restrictions to our residents at the SGMC Lakeland Villa, our leadership team wanted to make sure they truly felt the Christmas spirit. To do that, our employees ‘adopted’ their own resident, purchasing gifts unique to each resident’s likes. While their wish list’s included simple items like socks, snickers, or lotion, they received that and much more as our employees flooded the Villa with packages. That’s what Christmas is all about!
A special thank you to the Villa staff for what they do each and every day, and a special thank you to our employees who helped make this possible.“
