On November 17, 2020, at approximately 2:24 pm, Emergency 911 Dispatch advised officers that a citizen had reported being robbed at gunpoint in the 900 block of Wilson Avenue. Patrol officers and detectives with the Valdosta Police Department quickly responded to the area. The victim told officers he was approached by three subjects, later identified as Shepherd Williams, Ahmad Smith, and Ahmaree Fredrick while he was standing in the front yard of his residence. The victim indicated one subject pointed a firearm at him while the other two suspects went into his vehicle and stole property belonging to him. The victim gave a vehicle description to the 911 dispatcher, which the suspects fled the scene in. A detective in the area observed the suspect vehicle and followed it to a residence on McAfina Trail. Officers responded to the residence and located all three suspects. Officers recovered three firearms, along with property belonging to the victim. Williams, Smith, and Fredrick were transported to Lowndes County Jail and charged with Armed Robbery (Felony) and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (Felony). Further charges are pending.
