Release:

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta, Ga. has launched a Virtual Field Trip program as a distance learning resource and an opportunity for students to earn free admission to the park.

“Students from around our region have been visiting Wild Adventures for almost 25 years to learn about the amazing animals that call our park home,” said Patrick Pearson, sales and marketing director. “Our new Virtual Field Trip program brings those experiences directly to the students whether they are in the classroom or distance-learning from home.”

The program features lesson plans and activities aligned to both Georgia and Florida state standards. Teachers can use these materials to supplement their own plans and design new lessons.

“We are also offering opportunities for students to participate in live video question and answer sessions with one of our zookeepers and an animal ambassador,” said Pearson. “It’s the next best thing to actually being at the park seeing these amazing creatures face-to-face.”

Teachers who participate in the Virtual Field Trip program can also request free admission to Wild Adventures for those students who complete lessons and activities based on materials provided by the park.

“It’s an approach that really reinforces the instruction that will take place in the classrooms that participate in the program,” said Pearson. “Learn in the classroom, learn from a zookeeper and then learn in-person.”

Teachers and home-school parents who are interested in Wild Adventures’ Virtual Field Trip program can register at WildAdventures.com/Groups.

Wild Adventures is now open weekends through Nov. 1 for The Pumpkin Spice Festival, a food festival with over two dozen pumpkin spice treats and fall foods, daily trick-or-treating and more. For more information about The Pumpkin Spice Festival, visit WildAdventures.com.
