Arrest made for assault at Valdosta Circle K

On August 20, 2020, at approximately 1:17 am, patrol officers with Valdosta Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Thomwal Street, in reference to an assault that occurred at a Circle K in the 1700 block of Gornto Road. The victim indicated that while at the store he was approached by a subject, later identified as Kendrick Clemons, who was yelling at him. It was reported Clemons struck the victim multiple times causing visible injuries. Officers were advised Clemons had a handgun in his possession during the assault. While speaking with the victim, Clemons drove past their location. A traffic stop was conducted, and Clemons was detained. During the investigation, officers located a handgun and marijuana. Clemons was arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail for the following charges:

Battery (M)

Possession of Marijuana (F)

Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (F)

Clemons was given a citation for Driving under the influence.
