Dear Lowndes County School System Community:
The safety of our students and staff is a priority for the Lowndes County School System. We are committed to providing a quality education for our students, delivered by caring and competent teachers in safe and secure facilities. As we approach the 2020-21 school year we are dedicated to starting school on our campuses when it is safe to do so. We believe students interacting with peers and teachers in a positive and challenging learning environment is most conducive to learning. We are also prepared
to provide each of our students in grades 2-12 with a Chromebook if virtual learning becomes necessary due to health conditions.
Our Return to School Plan has been developed with input from parents, teachers, community members, administrators, and health care professionals. Our plan may be revised and adapted depending on the level of viral transmission in our schools and community as we receive guidance from public health officials. We will be flexible as new information becomes available and make necessary adjustments. A copy of our Return to School Plan is on the Lowndes County School website.
Our schools will not be operating in a business-as-usual manner this year. Our objective is to provide positive learning experiences within a challenging new context. As we embark on the 2020-21 school year it promises to be a challenging one, but we are confident that we will weather these challenges.
