Police investigating shooting in Thomasville

Release:

On June 22, 2020 at approximetely 1:00 am, the Thomasville Police Dept. responded to the area of Cassidy Road and Vine Street in reference to a shooting incident. The responding officers came into contact with one victim that sustained a single gunshot wound. The crime scene was rendered safe and the responding Thomasville Police Officers treated the gunshot victim with a tourniquet in order to stop the bleeding prior to responding emergency medical personnel arrived to take over the medical care. The victim was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital where they are currently in stable condition and not in any life threatening situation.

At that time, responding officers, criminal investigations, and crime scene investigations took over the incident. The investigation further revealed a possible second gunshot victim that admitted their self into the Grady Memorial Hospital in Cairo, Ga. That victim had sustained a superficial wound and is not life threatening at this time. The investigation is on going and more details may be released in the near future.
