VALDOSTA — The Valdosta City Council is set to vote on the “Brunch Bill” that would allow alcohol sales at restaurants and bars beginning at 11 a.m. Sundays instead of the current 12:30 p.m. time on November 5.
The city councilmembers will vote on the issue Thursday August 22 at its scheduled meeting. If the “Brunch Bill” is approved, the referendum will be included on the ballot for voters.
Eighty-two Georgia municipalities have already approved such a bill with more deciding this year, and this brings an extra $25K per year to establishments already selling Sunday booze.
