VALDOSTA  –Wild Adventures Theme Park is making it easier for kids to warm up to the idea of going back to school by letting them go back to recess first. Saturday’s Back to School Splash will blend recess games into all the fun of Splash Island Waterpark. With special thanks for the difference they make every day, the park is offering free admission to the event for teachers all day Saturday August 1, 2015.

Along with all the fun slides and pools, classic recess games like Jump Rope, Simon Says, Four Square, Red Light/Green Light and many more will be hosted in Splash Island from Noon to 5 PM. There will also be a special squirt-zone for water wars.

“We wanted the chance to say thank you to our teachers as they begin a brand-new school year,” General Manager Molly Deese said. “Teachers do so much for our children and community, we’re happy to give them this little gift of fun to say thanks.” Teachers need to show a valid school ID for free admission. Family members and friends can purchase advance tickets online at a discount.

When Wild Adventures opens at 10AM, the first 500 students through the turnstiles will get a “Fun at Heart” pencil to kick of their school year in style. Splash Island Water Park opens at 11AM.
