DAWSON — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported a man has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting of Dawson Mayor Christopher Wright.

Nakia Jones, 31 of Albany, was arrested by U.S. Marshals and charged with aggravated assault.

Officials stated in a WALB report that he was living at a home on Holloway Street in Albany.

Jones was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
