VALDOSTA — Valdosta Police Department officials arrested a man after he broke into a home on Sunday. Around 7:06 a.m., Derek Cole was found inside of a home on 902 Pineview Drive.

Police received reports of a burglary in progress and upon arrival officers found an open window with a damaged screen on the back of the house.  They also found a screwdriver they believe he used to get through the window.

Officials gave Cole multiple warnings to evacuate the home. Cole finally crawled back through the window he broke into after officers threatened the K-9 unit on him.

Cole was arrested and received charges of burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Cole was taken to Lowndes County Jail. He was already wanted in Hamilton County, Florida.
