VALDOSTA — The names of the two deputies who shot and killed a man behind the Econo Lodge, on St. Augustine Rd. have been released.

Lowndes County Sheriff’s deputies, Scott Warnock and Kenneth Manuel shot and killed 42-year-old Dexter Bethea.

On April 8, Warnock and Manuel were attempting to arrest Bethea when he tried to run them over with his car in the parking lot of the motel.

The autopsy results reported that Bethea died of a single gunshot would to the head.
