VALDOSTA — A Valdosta State University student was robbed around 5:17 p.m. on Thursday at the Student Recreation Center on 1300 Sustella Avenue.

The female student was near the entrance of the Student Recreation Center when a black male, wearing a light green-colored shirt approached her, took her cellphone and fled the scene in a tan Chevrolet Tahoe.

The man was described as having a husky build and being roughly 5 feet 11 inches tall.

VSU Police Department is investigating the case.
