Ocilla > Man Receives 18 Months In Jail For Killing Three

OCILLA — On Tuesday, Marcus Boatwright pled guilty to six misdemeanor counts of vehicular homicide.

On August 8, 2011 Boatwright hit seven stopped vehicles, yielding for construction on Georgia Highway 32. After Boatwright smashed into the vehicles, three of them caught on fire.

All three drivers; Janie Potts, Dale Couey and Theodolphus Harris were killed.

Yesterday, March 13, Boatwright received three years, but is only required to serve 18 months in jail, the rest of his time will be served through probation. He is also no longer allowed to drive a commercial vehicle and received a fine of $1,000 for each three misdemeanor counts.
