BROOKS CO. – Police identified the bicyclist killed on Highway 84 as 27-year-old Karl Mitchell Thompson.

On Thursday, Thompson was hit by a semi truck while riding his bike on the edge of Highway 84.

The driver of the semi-truck has not been charged and the case is still under investigation.

According to a WALB report, Sergeant Tommy Peeples said, “If possible, give them that whole right hand lane.  And if they can’t move over due to traffic conditions, slow down so that the driver or the motorist can react if the bicycle does come into your lane.”
