ALBANY — Three men with United Logistics trucking company have received multiple charges for federal bribery and fraud scheme.
The company’s owner Christopher Whitman was convicted on over 50 counts. Two base workers were charged alongside Whitman, Shawn McCarty and Bradford Newell. McCarty was convicted of 17 counts and acquitted on 12, Newell was convicted of 16 counts.
Four other former base officials and employees have plead guilty.
Whitman over billed the government large sums of money for trucking contracts.
The men’s sentences are pending at this time. A forfeiture hearing will be held Wednesday.
