ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GA DOT) announces an Industry Forum scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, 2016, to highlight opportunities available in the Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP), Design-Build and Public Private Partnership (P3) program. This 10-year project delivery effort includes $14 billion in MMIP initiatives that will help shape Georgia’s transportation future.
The GA DOT has set an aggressive schedule in order to bring the 11 MMIP projects under contract within the next decade. The MMIP projects represent a large portion of the work, and the Department also intends to advance other significant projects using alternative delivery techniques. The Forum will provide an overview of these projects, along with some details on the vision for delivery.
The July 6th meeting is the first of many forums needed to successfully deliver this program. Due to the scale of these types of projects, GA DOT plans to expand its existing partnerships with private industry firms, and the first Industry Forum is focusing on engineering and management resources. The anticipated role of a Program Management Consultant and General Engineering Consultants will be presented at the Forum. An opportunity for questions and networking will be provided. Additionally, time has been set aside on a limited basis for firms interested in setting up 30-minute individual meetings the day after the Forum on July 7th.
