USAA CEO, VSU alumnus to address VSU spring 2016 graduating class

SAN ANTONIO – On May 7, USAA CEO and Valdosta State University graduate Stuart Parker will deliver the keynote address to the spring 2016 graduating class. Grounded in personal experience, Parker will tell graduates that the keys to leaving your unique thumbprint on the world include staying humble and being grateful, remaining flexible in world characterized by relentless change, and finding and passionately pursuing a higher purpose in life.
 
Parker became CEO in 2015 after beginning his career at USAA as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. Previously, Parker has served as the financial services provider’s chief operating officer, chief financial officer and president of USAA’s property and casualty insurance group.
 
Prior to his civilian career, Parker served nearly 10 years in the United States Air Force, flying combat missions in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm and training other military pilots. He is a first-generation college student from Valdosta and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at VSU, where he was also a distinguished graduate of the Air Force ROTC program.
