VALDOSTA, GA – For the ninth consecutive season, the Valdosta State Blazer softball team has earned the right to compete in the NCAA Softball South Region Tournament.

After winning their sixth straight Gulf South Conference Championship, the Blazers (40-13) finished the season as the South Region’s No. 3 seeded team, and will face No. 6 Palm Beach Atlantic (26-12) in the opening game of the 2014 NCAA South 2 Regional.

The No. 2 seeded Tampa Spartans (26-5) will serve as hosts, while the No. 7 Delta State Lady Statesmen (30-29) round out the field for the weekend tournament.

The Blazers begin play on Friday, May 9, at 3:00 p.m. against the Sailfish, and the Spartans will follow later that evening with a 6:00 p.m. matchup against the Lady Statesmen. For the full NCAA Softball Regional Championship schedule, view the bracket by clicking the link below.
