SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. – A list of America’s safest cities was composed by 24/7 Wall Street and one Georgia city made the cut.
According to 24/7 Wall Street, the cities with low violent crime rates tend to share socioeconomic characteristics. “The more affluent a place is, the less crime there is on average,” John Roman, a senior fellow with NORC at the University of Chicago, said.
Sandy Springs, Georgia came in as the 17th safest city to live in America. In 2018, the violent crime rate for the city was 117 per 100,000 and only 2 homicides.
This crime rate for the city is less than that of the country which is 369 per 100,000 Americans.
